The stunning grounds and beautiful architecture made for an enchanting stay, but the long wait times for service during meals detracted from the experience.

The South Lodge features beautifully maintained gardens perfect for leisurely strolls, with accessible pathways that make it easy for seniors to navigate. The Victorian charm of the hotel adds to the welcoming ambiance, giving it a magical feel.
Could enhance dining service speed for older guests.

The grounds at South Lodge are absolutely stunning. I loved the beautiful gardens and the serene environment. My room offered a spacious feel and a nice view, though it could have used some updates in furniture. The spa was definitely a highlight, really well designed and relaxing. the massages were fantastic. Breakfast was nice but could have had a wider variety. I experienced some issues during our stay. The food portions at dinner felt too small, leaving me wanting more even after spending a fair amount. One morning, the fire alarm went off, and there was no staff guidance during that time, which made it a bit chaotic. there were some kinks to work out, especially in communication during incidents, but the charm of the hotel and the quality of the spa made it a worthwhile visit.

Luxurious stay with wonderful facilities
I stayed for three nights in a Luxe Junior Suite and absolutely loved the spa amenities, especially the outdoor hydrotherapy pool which provided a serene experience. The elegant decor and spacious room made my stay truly enjoyable. the service in the restaurant could use some improvement during busy hours to enhance the overall dining experience.

The hot tub suite offers a unique feature with a cozy, private garden for relaxation, but be prepared for limited privacy around the outdoor area. The spa facilities present an inviting atmosphere with a well-designed outdoor pool and comfortable lounging spots to unwind.
The stay had a few hiccups that soured the experience a bit. The hot tub jets didn’t function properly and needed an engineer to get them going, which slows down the relaxation vibe. Clogged shower jets made the multi-jet experience less than impressive, leading to another awkward wait for maintenance. A frayed bathrobe and wardrobe lights refusing to turn on felt off for a luxury stay. Dining in the garden area turned awkward due to broken outdoor lights that left diners unable to see well, and the garden hot tub offered little privacy with guests from the nearby restaurant frequently walking past. it was surprising to deal with spotty Wi-Fi in the room, especially in a place that bills itself as five-star.

the property was stunning, really beautiful with lovely rooms that were perfect size for a family. the spa was amazin and we enjoyed the outdoor hydrotherapy pool a lot. the staff were friendly n helpful. the location is really nice with great grounds for a walk. our family suite was spacious and comfortable, just what we needed for a short break.
the breakfast was a let down, the eggs were rubbery and the juice tasted watered down. also, we had to wait a while for our drinks at the bar service, which was kinda annoying.
